Cortex Wizard

How it works

Everything happens in Cortex Wizard on your computer, with your Quad Cortex connected by USB and Cortex Control closed.

Merge presets into scenes

  1. Open Preset merge and find the presets: the search looks through every setlist and every plugin.
  2. Click a preset to see its scenes, then drag one onto a scene of the new preset. Cortex Wizard reads each preset on your Quad Cortex: it plays for a few seconds, then the preset you had comes back.
  3. Try it: the merge is built on your Quad Cortex, not saved yet. Every scene is read back and checked against its source, and the CPU is measured. Play it, scene by scene.
  4. Save as: a name, a setlist and an empty slot. Nothing is overwritten.

Reorder a setlist

  1. Open a setlist in Setlists: its presets in banks, as on your Quad Cortex.
  2. Drag a preset to its new place: a line shows where it goes. Dropped onto another preset, it swaps places with it (the right half) or replaces it (the left half: Cortex Wizard asks first, and the replaced preset is deleted when you save). Moved presets are marked, and Undo takes a step back. Nothing is written yet: it is a draft.
  3. Save: Cortex Wizard plans the moves on paper, makes them one by one, each confirmed by your Quad Cortex, and reads the setlist back at the end. Put back previous order undoes it. Save as new… leaves this setlist as it is and writes the new order into a new one.
